چکیده

The challenges posed by microbes in poultry industries and the continued search for natural means of combating them inspired this study. effect stem bark extracts Anacardium occidentale on avian colibacillosis was investigated. Ethanol aqueous A. were prepared using standard methods. In vitro antimicrobial activities evaluated against E. coli. Nine groups 10 broilers (day old chicks; 48 g – 50 g) each created bred a period eight weeks. Groups 1 to 3 served as control, while group 4 9 test groups. Meat quality, biochemical haematological assessments done maximum zone inhibition observed 13.0±0.4 mm at 100 % concentration ethanol extract. Both have bactericidal / bacteriostatic ratio 2. improved meat blood protein, liver enzymes renal functions compared negative control. Again, packed cell volume, haemoglobin red counts increased On whole, results obtained not significantly different (p > 0.05) from that commercial antibiotics (positive control) results. Therefore, we can infer crude could be used Colibacillosis disease place conventional antibiotics.

Clastogenic and toxicological assessment of cashew (Anacardium occidentale) nut bark extracts in Wistar rats.

Occupational exposures to environmental toxicants have been associated with the onset of skin lesions-including cancers. Identification and reduction of exposure to such compounds is an important public health goal. We examined the effect of cashew shell oil (CSO), used in skin tattooing for its potential to induce skin transformation in rats. Corn oil and CSO (25, 50, and 100%) were topically ...
